METALAG at Radlberger

Radlberger

Every year, 180 million PET-bottles leave the storage of Radlberger and are distributed throughout Europe. More than 200 different kinds of soft drinks are kept in stock on a 24.000 m² storage area. Altogether Radlberger accommodates 20.000 pallets. Since foundation in 1988 the company has experienced above average growth. The increasing product range makes the traceability of batches very difficult and required the implementation of a warehouse management system. Now METALAG efficiently manages the supply chain at Radlberger.

Radlberger is considered as a pioneer in filling PET-bottles. 200 different kinds of soft drinks are bottled in three filling stations. In addition to their own brands, Radlberger, Black Jack Cola, Echt Holler or Granny's gespritzt, the company also bottles drinks for other brands. The export contingent is up to 50% and goes mainly to Germany or Eastern Europe.

21 years ago, Radlberger started with 20 articles and now holds more than 200. Because of the increasing product range and the related complexity as well as the request for electrical delivery notes, the management of Radlberger decided to consider investing in a warehouse management system. It took a while to come to a decision within the company, but once it was reached the evaluation was speedy process.

Manfred Speiser (managing director): "The decision in favour of Metasyst was based on the pragmatic approach of the software company. The orientation regarding solutions was convincing and the geographical proximity advantageous."

Harald Einsiedl (Director IT): "Considering the IT requirements, the easy coupling to our ERP System as well as the simple implementation have been decisive factors. The availability of LXE Hardware has also been a great advantage."

Only three months after placing the order, Radlberger could use METALAG productively. The company is focussed on continual increase and expansion. Today an average of 50 truckloads leave 12 docking stations in Unterradlberg. In future, Radlberger will be optimally prepared for all corporate demands with METALAG, a system at the latest level of technological development.

Harald Einsiedl (Director IT): "We were very satisfied with the implementation. All our requirements have been realized in time."

Now METALAG controls the storage with non-stop batch tracing. The forklifts have been equipped with mobile vehicle mount computers.
